I’m Amar Akbar, the founder of SPC Therapy and a former NHS physiotherapist with a wealth of experience from hospital wards and five key clinical areas.

My journey in physiotherapy has taken me through diverse and challenging fields, including cystic fibrosis respiratory care in adults, orthopaedics and trauma, stroke acute units, outpatient musculoskeletal (MSK) care, and community rehabilitation. These experiences have shaped my deep understanding of patient care and the critical importance of a clinical approach to therapy.

In 2019, I established SPC Therapy with a clear vision: to elevate therapy education standards by combining practical skill development with a strong clinical foundation. We offer a wide range of accredited courses, including Clinical Cupping/Hijama (Level 5), Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Sports Massage (Level 4), Clinical Massage (Level 4), Graston Therapy, and a specialised Nutrition Course for Hijama Therapists. Our aim is not just to train therapists but to qualify them with a clinical understanding that sets them apart in the industry. We are committed to expanding our offering with more clinical and therapy-focused courses in the near future.
