Are you chakras out of balance?
The seven chakras are energy centers throughout your body that play a key role in your health and well-being. When one or more is out of balance, physical manifestations may occur. Everything from urinary problems to sexual and reproductive issues can all occur because of an imbalanced chakra. That’s why it’s important to be cautious of the different warning signs out there as this will help you not only determine the root of the issue, but the right path to take for healing.
Here are four warning signs your chakras are out of balance and tips on how to deal with them:
- Development of Certain Skin Conditions
The body’s largest organ is the skin, which helps to unravel why imbalanced chakras can result in a variety of developmental skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, and more. Still, depending on which chakra is out of balance, the type of skin concerns you experience may change and the way in which you treat it may differ. For instance, if your root chakra is imbalanced, acne blemishes are more likely to appear on account of fluctuating hormones, which typically occurs as a result of not feeling grounded. The root chakra, also known as the muladhara chakra, is all about our ability to feel grounded, taken care of, and supported, meaning it’s likely responsible for the development of this concern.
Luckily, treating breakouts—or any of the other conditions mentioned above—can be done seamlessly with the assistance of some effective skincare products tailor-made for the needs of your skin. However, when it comes to rebalancing your root chakra as a whole, the path to healing might not be so linear. If you think your root chakra may be the cause of the development of certain skin conditions like acne, consider partaking in grounding activities such as spending time with nature, standing barefoot outside, and deep breathing exercises.
- Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
The second chakra—the sacral chakra— may be the culprit to blame if you're struggling with a urinary problem like a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Sacral energy governs your creativity, sensuality, senses, and personal power. When this chakra is out of balance, it’s normal for your body to have little to no tolerance for discomfort. With this in mind, as well as the fact that the second chakra is rooted in the region of your genital organs, explains why sacral issues such as UTIs may arise.
To relieve symptoms experienced from a UTI, be sure to drink plenty of water, empty your bladder fully when going to the bathroom, and use a heating pad. As for improving the balance of your second chakra, try to incorporate positive self-talk into your everyday routine with affirmations like, “I feel with passion and trust” or “I feel abundance and pleasure with every breath and movement I take.” Doing this will serve to stimulate a healthy flow of energy within your sacral aura.
- Digestive Issues & Abdominal Pain
The abdomen, side body, and mid-back are all associated with the solar plexus chakra, so if digestive issues and abdominal pain is what you’re experiencing, this is likely to blame. Formally known as manipura, this chakra is regarded with our thoughts and feelings we have about ourselves and governs our ability to truly digest our life as we know it to be. Needless to say, when the solar plexus chakra is out of balance, physical problems such as digestive issues and abdominal pain are not the only thing to watch out for. Mental health concerns related to self-esteem and self-image are also something that may become negatively affected by an unbalanced solar plexus chakra.
To bring this chakra into balance and manage digestive issues and/or abdominal pain, be sure to be conscientious of the foods and beverages you’re putting into your body. Remember, you are what you eat, so if you’re going to eat poorly, chances are you’ll feel poorly and vice versa. So, make sure you’re carefully selecting items that serve to benefit your body and your chakra. Beyond this, consider picking up a self-care activity to boost your mental health. Self-help books such as, The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Braden can be a great way to establish a healthier relationship with yourself and further rebalance the energy of your solar plexus chakra.
- Jaw Pain or Grinding Teeth
Do you normally find yourself clenching your jaw throughout the day? Do you have a bad habit of grinding your teeth at night? If so, your throat chakra may be out of balance. Physically located at the throat, mouth, neck, jaw, and ears, the throat chakra—or vishudha—is known for being the center of expression. Having self-awareness and practicing effective communication are two components that are aligned with this particular chakra. When imbalanced, physical manifestations such as jaw pain or grinding of teeth and emotional manifestations like self-criticism can occur.
Although there isn’t much you can do to manage jaw pain or stop yourself from grinding your teeth, there are a few things you can do to try and prevent them from happening. For example, drinking soothing tea before bed can serve to support the quality of shuteye you get at nighttime, and relax your mind and body. Additionally, engaging in de-stressing activities like meditation and journaling can work to reduce physical tension in your body, while also allowing you to get in touch with your inner voice. Therefore, averting jaw pain and the grinding of teeth, as well as improving the balance of your throat chakra.
